Brief Description:

  • The Project has automatized all purchases and payments being done within IIT-B by making this system online.
  • Handles various types of purchases like: Indent based purchases (3 quotation purchase (LTI), proprietary Item purchase (STI), and Advertised Tender Purchase(ATI), Rate Contract (RC) and Repeat order (RO).
  • As an extension, currently working on the TA/ DA Advance Module which will facilitate the issuing of advances easily for the purpose of Conferences/ Seminars etc.
  • Also released a file upload module using ajax technology which allows the users to upload pdf's containing all the requirements.
  • Stress on a lot of validations (applied using Javascript and jQuery) and follows a proper work flow mechanism in the form of approval chains for different types of purchases.

Classification Techniques for Texture Images (Using Neuroph Studio)

Brief Description:

  • Texture analysis which consists of texture classification, segmentation, and synthesis has a wide variety of applications in image processing, e.g., industrial and biomedical surface inspection, ground classification, segmentation of satellite imagery, and  content-based image retrieval.
  • The classical framework of texture classification is to transform the texture image into a feature vector using a bank of filters, followed by some non-linearity and smoothing steps followed by classification.
  • Uses GLCM (Gray-Level Co-Occurrence Matrix) technique for the purpose of Feature Extraction. Based on the extracted features that were stored in a MySQL Database, retrieved the most similar images from the Database to a given query image using similarity measures.
  • Further the concept of Machine learning for the purpose of Classification is also explored and the use of Soft Computing Technique- Artificial Neural Networks is illustrated with the help of a Java Framework- Neuroph Studio.

The AAA Principle of Security

Brief Description:

  • Deals with the implementation of security principles in a web application. The 3 A's stand for Authentication, Authorization and Access Control.
  • Implemented the principles in an Online Shopping Web Application where the user can browse only or purchase the products. The system is managed by the administrator for the role of which we have implemented 2 levels of security: a password and Biometeric Authentication.
  • Also used the concept of Digital Certificates and Digital Signatures.
  • Another feature was the usage of cryptography for the security of the credit card details used during the purchasing and transaction module for secure transmission of the details over the network.
